Description
Package R-6. Color band denotes cathode end. Mount on PCB with 2 mm Air circulation Gap.
This is used in Power Rectifier Circuits where high currents are used. It can be used in 230V mains circuits too, as it has a 400V upper limit.
It can be used as a Freewheeling Diode across very large DC Solenoids or Motors to damp the kickback spikes.
Semiconductors have a very long shelf life, but it has to be stored properly to prevent rust build up on the copper.
Leads have Some Corrosion. Use a Blade to Scrape and Tin Leads with Soldering Iron before use.
